To ensure sustainable agriculture methods, the farmers must be exposed to better and new techniques of farming. Volunteers from Foundation Trust pay attention to organising training/interaction sessions with local farmers. This ensures that the farmers understand various sustainable farming practices beyond the traditional methods.
The team promotes package agriculture practices to the farmers that include

- Integrated Disease Management
- Integrated Nutrition Management
This initiative is helping farmers in generating a better understanding of the chemical-free farming process.
Various Agriculture and Animal husbandry session/training organised during Quarter 3 benefitted a total of 9749 farmers. The focus was on sharing agriculture insights, drip irrigation techniques, adoption of organic farming and training on farming techniques.

Animal Husbandry:
Many farmers depend on Animal Husbandry to support their livelihood. The main focus of the team from Foundation Trust is to help the farmers understand the best ways to maintain the health and nutrition of their cattle. Several interactive sessions and treatment camps for animals are organised. The team also distributes nutrition kits/animal feed to the farmers in the region.

Exposure Visit to Agriculture University, Navsari Gujarat
An exposure visit was organised on 26 October 2021, for farmers to give them insights on various agriculture-related topics.
The experts from the university shared details on water harvesting and storage methods, vermicompost, usage of pesticides, organic farming, use of bio-fertilisers etc. The team also showed soil health cards and products made from banana trunks.
The farmers visited the Agriculture Museum.

Farmer’s Day Celebration
In India, Farmers’ Day, or Kisan Diwas, is celebrated on the 23rd of December every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Choudhary Charan Singh, India’s fifth Prime Minister. He worked tirelessly for the development of farmers throughout his brief tenure as Prime Minister of the country. He established several welfare programmes for them.
To celebrate the day and acknowledge the contribution of the farmers, volunteers from Foundation Trust organised interactive sessions in villages near Bhilad, Gujarat. Insights were shared about organic farming during the session.
Interaction Session with Farmers
The Foundation Trust organises regular interaction sessions with local farmers from the villages near its areas of operation. During such sessions, the farmers share their concerns with the volunteers.
The teams also brief farmers about organic farming and other updates. The teams share awareness about several initiatives run by the government in the region for the benefit of local farmers.
